We think a lot about what goes into the things we make - not just how they look, but what they're actually made of, and what sits against your skin all day. That's why every Malu tee is produced to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.
So what is it?
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is one of the world's most trusted textile certifications. To carry it, every component of a garment - the fabric, the thread, the print, the trims - is independently tested against a long list of substances known to be harmful to people. If any part doesn't pass, the whole piece doesn't pass.
In plain terms: it means the tee on your back has been checked, top to bottom, to be free from harmful chemicals. No guesswork, no fine print - an independent standard, verified.
Tested top to bottom. Free from harmful chemicals. The way clothing should be.
Why it matters to us
We're not interested in making throwaway garments. We want to make the best possible product - pieces you'll wear on repeat for years - and that has to start with what they're made from. Holding ourselves to this standard is how we make sure quality isn't just a word on a label.
It matters for the coast, too. Cleaner production means fewer harmful chemicals in the water and the supply chain that surrounds it - and that's exactly the kind of place we're trying to protect.
What to look for
Next time you buy a garment - from us or anyone - look for it. Ask what it's made of and how it's been tested. The more of us that care, the more the whole industry has to lift. Your skin, and the coast, are worth it.
